Gallery Assistant

Helen Day Art Center seeks Gallery Assistant for Sundays 12-5 and evening hours as needed. Responsible, service minded person with administrative / clerical skills preferred, background in the arts a must.

Helen Day Art Center welcomes thousands of visitors and members to our exhibits, classes and public programs each year. Help us staff the gallery, stay open for evening classes, and accomplish administrative goals. Learn about art, art administration, art education and curating in a contemporary, dynamic art center with motivated peers in a great community.

Art interest and art knowledge a plus, retail and or service experience is beneficial. Ideal applicant will be reliable, motivated and self sufficient with strong customer service skills and computer skills. The position requires staffing the gallery on Sundays from 12-5pm, staffing the art center during same-day education classes and in the case of facility rentals as needed. Administrative projects, art center outreach and other assistance as requested. Opportunities to work with staff on exhibitions, education and events make this a great opportunity.
