Eli Simon produces large lustrous ceramic objects, reminiscent of design and industrial production. These boldly colored sculptures are coupled with Hal Mayforth’s humorous, narrative and equally vibrant paintings and watercolors.

Dusty Boynton exhibits mixed media paintings and pieces from her “Structured Reliefs” series. Boynton’s love for painting is ever-present. If possible, her cutout figures come to life even more than her canvases. Packed with personality, the figures exist between carefree child-like drawings and psychosomatic studies. Denis Versweyveld & Austin Furtak-Cole

Austin Furtak-Cole’s process-based paintings feel like layers of skin, searching for form and often finding it between representation and abstraction. These painterly canvases surround the work of Denis Versweyveld, whose white wooden sculptures seem to commemorate the quotidian, at once hauntingly powerful and monumental.

Rory Jackson is the People’s Choice winner from 2011’s Taste of Stowe Event. He is presenting a new body of work for his solo exhibition in the East Gallery. Jackson’s historically representational and vibrant land and seascape paintings are informed by Ghana and Vermont, two places he’s called home. |
