ADMINISTRATION GURU

The duties of the Arts Administration Volunteer will be to assist in the administrative functions related to the Center, including development activities, research, outreach and stewardship.

Job Specifications
* The Arts Administration Volunteer position will require a commitment of 20 hours per month and can be set for seasons or just monthly pledges. Scheduling will be Tuesday – Friday during office hours.
* The volunteer will coordinate with the Executive Assistant and Gallery Manager.
* Data entry and statistics preparation.
* Filing and office organization.
* E-mail correspondence.
* E-newsletter & Social Media.

ART HANDLERS / EXHIBITIONS

The duties of the Exhibitions Volunteer at Helen Day Art Center are to support exhibitions, public programs, artist talks and tours. The responsibilities of the position include art handling, gallery room preparation and other exhibition related activities.

Job Specifications
* The Exhibitions Volunteer position will require a commitment of 20 hours per month during installation season. Scheduling will be during office hours.
* The volunteer will coordinate with the Assistant Director and the Gallery Manager.
* Art handling.
* Packaging documentation.
* Wall preparation.
* Lighting set-up.
* Hanging of the exhibitions, depending on experience or desire.

ART CLASS PLANNING

The duties of the Art Class Planning Volunteer at Helen Day Art Center are to help teachers in art classes, oversee class flow and facilitate class events.  Class planning can be provided for both Youth and Adult art classes.

Job Specifications
* The Art Class Planning Volunteer position will require a commitment of 20 hours per month. Scheduling will be during working hours.
* The volunteer will coordinate with the Education Coordinator.
* Preparing materials for school tours in conjunction with the current exhibits.
* Helping establish and maintain records of students participating in classes.
* Communicating with the artists/teachers and putting together a book of information and biographies for Helen Day’s education archives.
* Assisting with promotional materials for classes from distributing posters/flyers, etc to preparing mailed items and packages to teachers.

ART CLASS SUPPORT

The duties of the Art Class Support Volunteer at Helen Day Art Center are to help teachers in art classes, oversee class flow and facilitate class events.  Class support can be provided for both Youth and Adult art classes.

Job Specifications
* The Art Class Support Volunteer position will require a commitment of 20 hours per month during class seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall. Scheduling will be mostly during working hours and may require some Saturday availability.
* The volunteer will coordinate with the Education Coordinator and Program Assistant.
* Help facilitate classes by assisting teacher with class preparation.
* Supervising the correct use of materials by students.
* Making sure class room is properly set-up and clean.
* Documenting classes as well as managing feedback from students.

EVENT STAR

The duties of the Events Volunteer at Helen Day Art Center are to support the variety of fundraising events we tailor to support the Art Center’s operation.

Job Specifications
* The Special Events Volunteer position will require a commitment of 20 hours per month during the length of a specific project –regularly 2/3 months- Scheduling will be during office hours mainly but may require some evening and weekend flexibility depending on the project.
* The volunteer will coordinate with the Executive Director and the correspondent Event Committee.
* Develop and organize timelines and other tools to help the flow of the event.
* Recruit volunteers to support the event process.
* Distribute internal and external communications related to the event.
* Collaborate with the development of promotional materials.
* Provide a feed-back document at the end of the event.

GALLERY INTERPRETER

The duties of the Gallery Interpreter Volunteer at Helen Day Art Center are to facilitate the logistics of the gallery during opening hours, provide gallery tours to visitors and school groups. The responsibilities of the position include stewardship.

Job Specifications
* The Gallery Interpreter Volunteer position will require a commitment of 20 hours per month during exhibit seasons. Scheduling will be mostly during afternoons but may require morning tours while schools are in session.
* The volunteer will coordinate with the Education Coordinator and Assistant Director.
* Offering educational tours to school groups.
* Offering brief informative tours to daily visitors.
* Document and research related to current exhibit.
* Document gallery visitors.
* Art sales.
* Social media.

GRAPHIC DESIGN

The duties of the Design Volunteer at Helen Day Art Center are to collaborate in the design of exhibition materials, promotional collateral, and other supporting materials for the program activities of the Art Center.

Job Specifications     
* The Graphic Design Volunteer position will require a commitment of 20 hours per month for a period of two to three months. Scheduling is flexible to the volunteer’s needs and projects sometimes can be achieved remotely.
* The volunteer will coordinate with the designated contact person for each specific project.
* Upon receiving details on the event/exhibit to promote HDAC, the volunteer is expected to produce three design options.
* Design credit will be given in all printed materials.

PHOTOGRAPHY

The duties of the Photography Volunteer at Helen Day Art Center are to document program activities with photographs, audio and video. Document Tours, artist talks, public programs and other examples of our constituents experiencing HDAC.

Job Specifications
* The Photography Volunteer position will require a commitment of 20 hours per month most of the year except for winter, when the commitment will be of 20 hours. The position can be taken for a monthly commitment. Scheduling will depend on classes, events and the Art Center’s opening hours. It may require some evening or weekend availability.
* The volunteer will coordinate with the department of education or exhibitions regarding the events that will be documented.
* The volunteer finishes his/her task by delivering photographs in three different digital formats: print quality large and small; and web quality.
* Photo credit will be presented whenever possible.
